Palau Maricel

Stately home complete with ornamental elements from different periods and origins, used as a museum.

In 1915 Sculptor Pere Jou came to Sitges to create fifty capitals decorating the doors and windows

Former ‘Hospital de San Juan Bautista’ that Deering bought from Sitges Council for 40,000 pesetas

Terraces and the cloister, situated at the top of the building, provide an outstanding view out across the Mediterranean.

Between 1912 and 1916, Utrillo built the Maricel de Terra and connected it to Maricel de Mar by means of a bridge over Calle de Fonollar.

One day in 1921, Deering packed his bags and his museums art and took it to the Usa via Tarragona, port.

Through representatives of the Sitges town folk, bent on keeping the collection here. Today, many are at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Currently, the Golden and Blue rooms, decorated uniquely, are on offer for receptions, conferences, weddings, banquets and all kinds of official events.
